DARRELL LANIGAN SCORES $10,000 DLM DREAM PRELIM WIN!
(June 11, 2017)
Clint Bowyer Racing (CBR) traveled to the Buckeye State of Ohio from June 8-10 for the 23rd edition of the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ A stellar field of 79 Super Late Model competitors signed in at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and all eyes were focused on the whopping $100,000 winner’s share. Things kicked off at the “Big E” on Thursday and Friday with a pair of preliminary programs, which paid $5,000 and $10,000 to win respectively in Twin 25 lap sprints.

Darrell Lanigan won his heat race on Thursday evening prior to advancing up to second in the 25-lap feature to trail only victor Brandon Overton at the checkers. On Friday night, Darrell finished second in heat race action and later led laps 4-25 of the headliner to score the $10,000 payday over Chris Madden, Scott Bloomquist, Zack Dohm, and Shane Clanton! The Union, Kentucky standout then placed second in Saturday’s heat race, but overheating woes during the course of the 100-lapper dropped Darrell to twenty-second in the final finishing order of the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ Comprehensive coverage from the crown jewel extravaganza over the weekend at Eldora can be viewed by pointing your web browser to www.eldoraspeedway.com.(Heath Lawson Photography)
